Masaaki Murakami is Professor at the Institute for Genetic Medicine (IGM) at Hokkaido University, specializing in neuroimmunology and molecular psychoneuroimmunology. As principal investigator of an ISS experiment, he investigated how gravity influences immune-cell gateways to the central nervous system, contributing to the emerging field of space immunology.
